Chapter 1

Without warning, the pyramids arrived. One by one, they filled the skies around the world. The giant structures were invisible to the naked eye, and the public was unaware of them. However, the military knew they were there. Radar had detected them from the beginning.

World leaders were wary of the pyramid's intentions. Countries quickly forgot their differences and joined forces. They looked to scientists for answers, but the experts couldn't agree. However, they agreed on one thing. The pyramids were not of this earth.

From the outset, the pyramids had caused chaos for airlines. Routes had to be changed, and many flights cancelled. It soon became too expensive to travel by plane. News reports blamed the upset on the latest pandemic sweeping the globe. The public was used to these types of restrictions and accepted them without question.

However, one day, things changed. Blurred lines began appearing in the sky. They connected and merged, revealing solid structures with square bases and triangular sides. The pyramids were now in full view, their mirrored surfaces reflecting the world beneath them.

At first, the public was terrified. They demanded answers, but their government's replies were vague and suspicious. Rumours swiftly spread across the internet. Protesters lined the streets. When answers still didn't come forth, angry mobs began rioting. The madness spread across the globe. It raged out of control. Law and order hung in the balance. Cities and towns became dangerous places to live. There seemed no end in sight.

But without warning, news broke. Lockdowns and restrictions were being lifted and removed. Society felt a joint sense of relief. Life started returning to normal. Governments still hadn't explained the appearance of the pyramids.

But with their freedoms restored, the public simply didn't care anymore. The anger and distrust of the past months faded. Most agreed that the pyramids appeared harmless. After all, it was because of their arrival that wars ended and countries became united.

Was that their purpose? Were the pyramids simply there to protect humankind? Or was there a darker motive for their arrival?
